RFx ID: 34635719 Organisation: Gisborne District Council Open date: Wednesday, 5 August 2026 10:00 AM +12:00 Close date: Wednesday, 30 September 2026 5:00 PM +13:00 Categories: 72103300 - Infrastructure maintenance and repair services 77110000 - Environmental protection 81101500 - Civil engineering 95121700 - Public buildings and structures Region: Gisborne Overview: This is an Advance Notice of an upcoming RFT for the Taruheru River Flood Resilience Project – Rural: True Left Bank Battering Works, Gisborne. The tender is expected to be released to the market in late September 2026. This advance notice is for information purposes only and does not require a response. Gisborne District Council is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced civil contractor to batter back the true left bank of the Taruheru River to approximately 1V:3H, with localised channel maintenance, to improve flood conveyance, bank stability and īnanga spawning habitat. The full design extent is approximately 2.4 km of true left bank, involving in the order of 7,000 to 10,000 m³ of cut. The works include spoil loading, haulage and disposal to the nominated spoil site, erosion and sediment control, fish management, haul route and access management, progressive stabilisation, reinstatement, and completion records. The works are construct-only; the design is provided by Council. The procurement will use an open GETS tender with a Purchaser Nominated Price (target price) method. Council will nominate the available physical works budget in the tender documents, and tenderers will identify the maximum conforming scope they can credibly deliver for that price, supported by methodology, programme, plant, haulage resources, fish management approach, and productivity assumptions. The construction window is December 2026 to early March 2027, constrained by ecological (īnanga) requirements, with no extension beyond early March 2027. The tender documentation will set out the final scope, nominated price, work limits, drawings, Schedule of Prices, consent, ecological and spoil disposal requirements, access arrangements, evaluation criteria, and contract conditions. Interested suppliers should monitor GETS for the formal tender release.
