Tender overview

RFx ID: 34795428 Organisation: Western Bay of Plenty District Council Open date: Friday, 28 August 2026 12:00 AM +12:00 Close date: Thursday, 17 September 2026 5:00 PM +12:00 Categories: 83101500 - Water and sewer utilities Region: Bay of Plenty Overview: The Waihī Beach Wastewater Treatment Plant requires renewal and upgrade works to improve treatment performance, operational resilience and long-term reliability. A key driver for the project is the reinstatement of critical treatment infrastructure, along with associated improvements to supporting plant systems and assets to ensure the facility can continue to meet the needs of the Waihī Beach community. Western Bay of Plenty District Council (Western Bay) wishes to invite suitably qualified and experienced Contractors to submit a Registration of Interest (ROI). While the final contract value will depend on the confirmed scope, design solution and tender outcomes, Western Bay currently expects this to be a moderate-scale Design and Build project rather than a major Tier 1-only infrastructure package. The opportunity is therefore considered suitable for capable Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors, including local and regional contractors, who can lead a Design and Build contract and manage the necessary design, specialist supplier, subcontractor and commissioning inputs. The project, which has reduced in scope, largely consists of reinstatement of the SBR, upgrading the inlet works, upgrading the electrical control centre, and completing associated ancillary works. Following evaluation of ROI submissions, a shortlist of Respondents will be invited to participate in a Request for Tender process for delivery of the project under a Design and Build contract model. Further details regarding the project scope, performance requirements and delivery expectations will be provided during the RFT phase. Please raise all questions via GETS Q&A function.
